What goes on a pest control invoice

Four details make this a pest control invoice rather than a generic one. Each has its number in the sample’s margin, from the top of the page down.

    The pest control operator license number, under the address. States license the people who apply pesticides for hire, and the number on the invoice is how a customer or a landlord checks yours.

    Preparation and pet safety

    What the customer did before the visit, emptying the cabinets under the sinks, and what they do after: people and pets off the treated areas until they dry. Written on the invoice, the instructions stay in the house after you drive away.

    Pests found, products used

    Each pest found gets a row: German cockroaches in the kitchen and baths, ants along the exterior, mice in the attic with four bait stations, and the product used on each. Where your state requires it, add each product’s EPA registration number from its label.

What should a pest control invoice include?

A pest control invoice should include your operator license, pests identified, treatment products used (with EPA numbers if required by your state), areas treated, safety instructions, re-treatment warranty terms, and next service date if applicable.

How do I bill for recurring pest control?

Recurring plans, quarterly or monthly, are billed either per visit or as an annual contract. On each invoice, list the service date, areas treated, products used, and any additional treatments beyond the standard plan as separate items.

Should I include product safety information on invoices?

Yes. Include basic safety instructions (re-entry time, pet precautions) and note that Safety Data Sheets are available upon request. Some states require specific product information on service tickets.
