What is GPS time tracking?

GPS time tracking records a worker’s hours together with their location, so a clock-in on a job site can be told apart from a clock-in from the truck at home. For field crews it replaces paper timesheets and memory at the end of the week.

Sample data: a technician’s clock-ins for one week, Monday to Friday. On a paper timesheet written up on Friday, every morning reads 8:00 AM and nothing says where. With GPS time tracking each clock-in has its own time and place: four at the shop, and Wednesday’s, at 7:52 AM, from home, 1.3 miles from the shop.
