Every house has a window
A cleaning team works in places their owners have left. A house is empty from the time the client leaves for work to the time the kids get home; a vacation rental from checkout to the next check-in; an office until the first patient walks in. The clean has to start after the first time and be finished by the second.
The figure is a sample day: two teams of two cleaners and eight places — two offices before they open, four regular homes, a rental between guests and a new client’s first deep clean. Each white band is the hours a place is empty; the dark tick at its end is when someone is back.
The day as it was booked
The list was split down the middle, in the order the clients booked. Team 2 reaches Saguaro Blvd at 10:23 am and waits 1 h 37 min outside for the client to leave. The clean on Ironwood Ln is finished at 4:31 pm, 2 h 01 min after the client is back at 2:30 pm. On Ocotillo Rd, the clean is finished at 4:26 pm, 26 min after the next guests are due at 4 pm. Between them the teams drive 1 h 15 min.
Nothing on the list is wrong: every clean is there, with its time. It is the order and the split that put a team outside an occupied house and a clean inside one.
The same day, routed
Route optimization splits the day’s jobs across your teams and puts each team’s stops in the order that drives least, keeping every time window and every clean’s length. When you add a clean to the day, the rest of the route re-orders around it. It is on every plan.
In the sample, Team 1 takes Baseline Rd, Palo Verde Dr, Ocotillo Rd and Saguaro Blvd; Team 2 takes Main St, Cedar Ave, Ironwood Ln and Mesquite St. Together they drive 37 min instead of 1 h 15 min, and every clean is finished before anyone is back; the longest wait for a place to empty is 23 min.
Each team’s day, on the phone

Cleaning jobs, and how long each takes
A weekly house clean and a one-off move-out clean are both a job in Business Genie: booked, scheduled, routed and invoiced the same way. What changes is the length, and the length, with the window, is what the day has to fit. The times here are sample times for a team of two.
Weekly and biweekly house cleaning

An empty house: inside every cabinet and drawer, the oven and the fridge, closets and shelves, marks off the walls. Usually due before a walk-through or before the keys change hands.
Vacation rental turnovers

Between checkout and the next check-in: beds stripped and remade, towels and linens swapped, the kitchen reset, supplies restocked, and the place left the way the listing shows it.
