A window cleaning day starts on the storefront route, before the shops open. Written in the order they open, the bakery at 7, the dental office at 8, the bank at 9, the sheet sends the truck across town and back between shops a mile apart. Storefront cleaning
The outside glass, the doors and the frames, before the shop opens: a scrubber and a squeegee from the sidewalk, a pole for the transoms, the sills and the door handles wiped last. On a weekly, two-week or four-week cycle, priced by the visit and billed monthly.
Screen cleaning and repair
Torn screens are rescreened at the tailgate: the old spline pulled, new mesh laid over the frame, rolled in with fresh spline and trimmed; bent frames are rebuilt from stock. Priced by the screen.
Outside-only window cleaning
Every pane from the outside with a water-fed pole: a brush on a carbon pole fed with filtered, deionized water, scrubbed and rinsed from the ground, with no squeegee and no ladder. Nobody has to be home. Priced by the pane or the window.
Gutter cleaning
The gutters are scooped out from a ladder or the roof, the downspouts flushed with a hose to check they run, and the debris bagged. Priced by the linear foot and the number of stories.
Hard water stain removal
Sprinkler spots etched into the glass do not come off with a squeegee. The pane is tested, then worked with a mild acid or a polishing compound and a pad, section by section, and rinsed. Priced by the pane, and quoted after a test spot.
Residential window cleaning
Screens come out first and are washed on the drive. The outside glass is scrubbed and squeegeed by hand on the ground floor and from a water-fed pole upstairs, rinsed with pure water so it dries without spots; then the inside, pane by pane, the tracks and sills, and the screens go back. Priced by the pane or the window, the second floor higher, screens and tracks as their own lines.
Commercial buildings
Low-rise offices, clinics and schools: the curtain wall from a water-fed pole or a lift, the entrance glass by hand, the inside on a quieter day. Quoted per building and cleaned on a contract, often monthly or quarterly.
Post-construction window cleaning
New glass under stucco splatter, paint, mortar and labels. Each pane is soaked, then scraped with a fresh razor held flat, slowly, because tempered glass scratches, and finished with a squeegee; frames and tracks are vacuumed of grit. Priced by the hour or at a higher rate per pane.
