Maintenance wash
A hand wash from the van’s own water, or a rinseless wash where the car is parked in a garage, then the wheels and tires, the glass, a vacuum and a wipe-down inside. Booked every two or four weeks on a plan, so the car never gets bad again.
Spill and odor treatment
The soaked carpet and pad are extracted with hot water, an enzyme cleaner breaks down what is left in the fibers, and an ozone treatment runs with the car shut if the smell has reached the headliner and vents.
Exterior detail
A hand wash, then an iron remover and a clay bar to lift what washing leaves in the paint, a sealant put on by machine, the wheels cleaned inside the spokes and the tires and trim dressed. Done while the paint is cool.
Interior detail
Air and a vacuum into every seam, carpets and cloth seats shampooed and extracted, leather cleaned and conditioned, the dash, vents and door panels steamed and wiped. Pet hair and stains are priced as extras.
Fleet detailing
A company’s cars or vans washed on its own lot one after another, about half an hour a vehicle, while they are parked. Priced per vehicle and usually on a standing schedule.
Full detail
The exterior and interior details on one car, the outside first while the morning is cool. Priced by the vehicle’s size and state: a clean sedan is the short end, a third-row SUV with pet hair the long one.
Ceramic coating
The paint is washed, decontaminated and given at least a one-step machine polish, wiped free of oils, then coated panel by panel in a garage, out of the sun. Most of the time is the polishing, so a coating is the day’s only job, and a second day when the paint needs more correction.
