Every pool on a route has its day. The tech comes back to the same pools on the same day each week, so a pool company’s route is five routes, one for each part of town.

A route grows one customer at a time. A new pool goes on the day for its part of town and is written at the end of that day’s list.
After a year of that, the day runs in the order the customers signed up, and the truck crosses its own path between pools a few streets apart. As listed, Tuesday’s eleven pools take 39 min of driving, 15.5 mi, and the community pool on Las Palmas is not finished until 10:19 am, 19 minutes after it opens to residents.

Add the job and the rest of the day re-routes around it, and the tech gets turn-by-turn directions to the next pool. In this sample the green pool fits between Palo Verde Dr and Acacia Ct, at 12:06 pm; it adds no miles to the day, and the last pool is done at 1:48 pm. Driving straight there when the phone rang would have added 2 mi and finished at 1:53 pm.

The same sort, Monday to Friday. Because the same pools come round every week, a shorter Tuesday is a shorter Tuesday every week.
In this sample the five routes come to 52.5 mi instead of 65, and 2 h 11 min of driving instead of 2 h 43 min. When a day outgrows one tech, split its pools across two and each gets a route of their own. A new customer who books a first visit through online booking goes on the day you choose for their part of town, and that day re-routes with them.

Pool service jobs, and how long they take
Weekly cleans fill the days. The rest of the work lands on them: a filter clean, a salt cell, a green pool, a pump that has given up. Each has its own length, and Business Genie keeps the length you set for a job when it routes the day it is on.
